How to Play

Look around. Then pin it.

  1. 1. Five spots. Each game picks five active campus locations and never repeats one inside that game.
  2. 2. One panorama. You can drag to turn a full circle and zoom in. You cannot walk, follow the arrows, or hop to the next panorama. The camera stays put.
  3. 3. Make a guess. Drop a marker on the Princeton map. Move it until it feels right, then lock it in. The real spot stays hidden until you do.
  4. 4. Score by distance. Closer is better. A perfect pin scores 5,000. The curve is round(clamp(5000 × e^(−distance ÷ 400), 0, 5000)). At a scale of 400 meters, a guess about 400 meters away still scores near 1,840, and a kilometer away falls off sharply.
  5. 5. Be quick. A speed bonus of up to 1,000 is added to each round. You get all of it within 10 seconds, and it fades to zero at 90. It is scaled by your distance score, so a fast wild guess earns very little. The clock starts when the round first opens, and reloading does not reset it.
  6. 6. See the line. After you lock in, the map draws your guess, the real panorama position, and the distance. Then the next round starts. Five rounds is a full game.

Street View imagery is requested from Google when you play. This app does not keep panorama images. If a panorama cannot be opened, you can refresh it or skip that round for zero points — the hidden spot is not revealed on a skip.
